Micromax Canvas Unite 2 is Micromax's response to Motorola's Moto E, which was launched for Rs. 7k, a price point which is dominated by Indian manufacturers like Micromax, Karbonn and Lava. Rooting any Android phone -Micromax Unite 2 A106, in this case - will void its manufacturer warranty. Some device manufacturers put in a functionality to report if a phone has been rootedeven if it is unrooted at a later point of time. Thankfully though, Micromax isn't known for doing any thing of this sort and thus, unrooting your Micromax Unite 2 should restore your device warranty. - Out there be dragons:
If you don't around tinkering around with settings and how your phone looks (in terms of UI) and works, then rooting isn't your cup of tea. The actions you do upon rooting can lead to unwanted situations. So dive in, only if you know what you're doing. We shan't be held responsible that happens to your phone during or after the process. - Charge your Battery:
You won't want to see your phone's battery die down during the rooting process. So, make sure your phone has enough juice to last the operation (10-15 minutes). Just to be on the safer side, we will recommend having your battery charged above the 50% mark. - Enabling USB Debugging:
USB Debugging needs to be enabled to let your computer (for nerds - to let adb and fastboot) communicate with your device.
To do so, you'' first need to unlock the Developer mode on your Unite 2. Just head on to Settings > About Phone and find the "Build number" and keep tapping it like crazy (tapping it 7 times should get the work done). A toast notification will confirm your action saying, "You are now a developer" (only if being one was that easy).
Now, you should see a new option under your Settings, namely Developer Options. So, jump to Settings > Developer Options and tick the USB Debugging field. - Backing up your data:
Though following this guide won't impact any data stored on your Micromax Unite 2 A106, better be safe than sorry. Backup everything that you consider worthwhile by using relevant apps from Play Store. Just open Play Store and search for Backup contacts or messages or whatever that you want to backup.

How to Install Clockworkmod Recovery on Micromax Unite 2 A106
- Install 7zip and extract all the zip/7z/rar files you downloaded in their separate folders. Don't extract the SuperSU zip file, transfer it as it is to your phone's internal or external sd card (or both).
- Go to the folder where you extracted USB Drivers for Unite 2 and install these drivers on your computer.
- Now, power off your device and pull out its battery. Count the number of hair present in a circle of radius 5 mm just above your left ear. Once you've counted about 10 of them, put the battery back in place and connect your phone to your PC using a USB cable without turning it on yourself.
- Now, head on to the folder where you extracted the SP Flash Tools and double click to open the flash_tool.exe executable file.
- In the Flash Tools window that appears, click on the scatter-loading button and browse to the location of the Scatter File for MT6582 that you've already downloaded.
- Doing so will load the memory addresses of the various partitions of your device. We've to tick mark those we need to flash. So, tick the checkbox present next to the BOOTIMG and RECOVERY options.
- Now, click the BOOTIMG text and select the boot image that we need to flash. Similarly, click the RECOVERY text and select the recovery img file. Both these files should be present in the folder in which you extracted the download #2 of the downloads required list.
- Now, SP Flash Tool is all set to perform the operation it is meant for. Take a deep breath and press the Download button. Continue through any warning message that might appear once you click the Download button.
- After the flashing procedure has been completed, your phone might reboot. A green circle in the Flash Tool window will generally let you know of the success of the flashing opeartion.
- You can disconnect your phone now.
How to Root Micromax Unite 2 A106
- Once you've installed clockworkmod recovery on your device, you can finally proceed to rooting your device. We're imagining that you've copied the SuperSU zip file to your phone, as instructed in step #1 of the previous stage.
- Power off your phone and pull out its battery (just to make sure it has shut down completely). Now, press and hold Volume up + Volume Down + Power buttons till you boot into the clockworkmod recovery screen.
- Once there, use Volume up and down keys to scroll through the available options and the power button to select the highlighted one.
- Using the instructions in the previous step, highlight and select the Install zip from sdcard option and select the SuperSU zip file from your phone.
- You might need to confirm your action by selecting the only Yes option present in a sea of No.
- Once the recovery flashes the SuperSU zip file, select the Reboot now option from the recovery. Or dammit, just pull out the battery and insert it back and power on as usual.
- Once your phone boots up normally, check if your phone has been rooted successfully.
