How to get the iOS 7 look on your Android smartphone

Regular readers at Droidiser would be aware that I'm personally not a big fan of Apple. Apart from the fact that their products are nowhere near as customizable as their Android (or Windows, when it comes to PC) counterparts, I am a big hater of their tactics which include suing around companies for stupid patents. Still, they have their fanbase, and a big one for that matter.

For those of you who either admire iOS but can't afford it or just want to have a new look and feel on your Android device, this post will list down all the modifications you need to make. We bet your friends will be fooled for a minute or two, at least.

So, let's start. The first and most visible part of the iOS 7 is the home screen. Because you own an Android, changing your home screen is easy as pie.

iOS 7 Launcher:

Espier Launcher is one of the best options when it comes to replicating iOS 7 look on your Android device. Looks like along with its many siblings, Apple has got it removed from the play store. God knows what kind of copyright claims the developer must be facing right now, but the only thing we know is the apk of the app is still available on the internet and you can download and transfer it on your phone and then install it as you would install any third party app.

iOS 7 Control Center:

Control center is Apple's version of Android Quick Settings tiles. Control Center by Hi Studio helps you get the same look and functionality on your Android device. As a swipe from the bottom edge brings the control center, it might interfere with your soft keyboard's space button, for instance. So, you might want to change the height of your keyboard to get rid of this problem (some third party keyboards have this option). Control Center has also been removed from the play store, so you have to get it from here.

iPhone Style Notifications:

Though the way Android handles notifications, with support for extended notifications and all, is absolutely perfect, you will have to replace it in order to get the iOS look on your device. Install this apk file to do that.

iOS Lock Screen:

This one is another important UI component in order to match iPhone's interface. iOS Lock Screen Parallax HD will be the app you would want to install in order to do that. As is the case with most other applications discussed above, you have more customizability options than you will find even in the real thing.

iOS Wallpapers and Sounds:

Folks on the internet have even uploaded the stock sounds and wallpapers from iOS 7. Head over to this XDA thread for wallpapers and to this one for sounds.

Other iOS Styled Apps!

Awesome, can you distinguish your device from an Apple iPhone now? Okay, you can, because it runs on an operating system that allowed you to replicate the iOS look - the customizability factor I talked about earlier.

Go ahead, try it on as many Android devices as you want. This should work on almost every Android device out there as most of the modifications are brought in by apps which can be installed on any device that runs on the Android platform. Also, don't forget to share this article with your iOS loving friends - show them what Android allows you to do. If they still don't agree Android is superior, ask them to replace their stock keyboard with a third party one and the war would be over! :P
