We all have our own interest when it comes to playing games. It sure is a good thing that there are dime a dozen of apps available in different genres that would fit each person’s preference. As for me, I personally enjoy playing puzzle games.
Some puzzle games are not that challenging though. Wouldn’t it be much more interesting if they are not that easy to solve? After all, puzzle games should really make you think, right? If you agree and you’re also looking for these types of applications, let’s take a look at our top 5 list.
- World of Cheese
Too cartoonish to be on this list? As the popular saying goes, “don’t judge the book by its cover”. Yes, it may look like only kids would enjoy playing this game. Well, they would because of its fun graphics but even adults would also love it because of the various challenging levels that would make you stop and think.
It has some levels that you can quickly solve. But the hard ones are really that difficult. Some I ended up cheating by looking at the walkthrough video (Ooops, don’t do the same, though it can be very tempting!). There are 35 levels in the game and the main goal is to find the cheese for Mr. Mousey.
You may get World of Cheese on App Store for free if you are an iOS user. If using Android, you may download World of Cheese on Google Play. Other levels are available as in-app purchases.
- What’s The Word
If you love word and picture puzzles, What’s The Word is the app for you! Four pictures will be shown on the screen and your job is to determine the common word that connects them. Tap the letters of the correct answer from the jumbled words to move to the next puzzle. You will also earn coins upon completing a level, which you can use for the hints.
You will be hooked playing this game. Some puzzles are really difficult to solve that you will be forced to use a hint in order to solve. You may also be tempted to make an in-app purchase to get more coins so be careful with that.
- Doors
Doors can usually be opened using the correct key. But the doors in this game are different. They require you to solve various puzzles to let you move to the next level. Some levels are pretty simple to figure out.
You would not have any problems opening the first few doors but wait until you get to the higher levels. The puzzles get trickier and would let you think even deeper. Be observant as the clue you’re looking for may just be right under your nose!
There are 80 levels to complete that would surely keep you occupied. It’s a free app available for both iOS and Android. However, it comes with advertisements, which could be a bit annoying. But other than that, Dooors would give you a great playing time.
- Cut the Rope
It’s another cute looking app that would get you addicted. Feed the adorable, big-eyed, green monster Om Nom with its favourite; candy! The candy is usually attached on a rope or placed in one of the objects available in the game like bubbles, boards, wheels and more.
You think it’s that simple? That’s what I thought too when I first played the game. But there are lots of levels that really made me scratch my head. There are 15 boxes that correspond to the game stages with 25 levels each, waiting for you to finish them all!
It’s Tetris, match color game and word puzzle in one! You must be familiar with all these three game categories. But this may be the first time that you’ve heard a mix of three. So how is it played?
Blocks of varying colors will fall from the top of the screen. Rotate the blocks and place them where they should fit with other blocks. Tap at least three blocks with matching color and no; they will not disappear. Instead, they will turn into letters.
You then need to create words by tapping and dragging on letters that are adjacent to each other. But wait there’s more! The speed of the game increases as the level goes up, which is completely mind boggling!
If you haven’t downloaded any of the games yet, now is the right time to do so.
You’ll be mind blown at how much thinking you’ll need to make yet enjoy at the same time to get a head of the game.
