The pricing details of Moto G have been announced officially and we are very excited to report that the phone has been priced just what the people wanted. The pricing details were made official in a launch event organized by Motorola and Flipkart.
The 8 GB version of the Moto G will sell for Rs. 12,499 while the 16 GB version will cost a reasonable one and a half grand more at Rs. 13,999. This pricing is now reflected in Flipkart's Moto G listing which, at the time of writing, shows the Moto G to be coming soon.
Flipkart will sell the phone exclusively for about two weeks, after which other retailers (read Snapdeal) will also make the phone available with different offers.
At the price Moto G has been launched on, it will compete with Micromax and other Indian brands' higher-end smartphone offerings. Also, Samsung's Grand Quattro, Galaxy Core etc. What's interesting to note is that no other reputed brand is offering such specs at anywhere near this price. So, if Motorola does promote the phone aptly, Moto G can help Motorola make a groundbreaking return to India.

Should you wait for Moto G's launch on Snapdeal?
In a comparison of the launch offers, we had said that Snapdeal's launch offer sounds much better than Flipkart's. Given that Flipkart has exclusive selling rights over Moto G, you should probably wait for the phone's availability and pricing. Even if Snapdeal sells the phone for Rs. 1-2k higher, which it most probably wouldn't, the deal is still sweeter on Snapdeal as the freebies from Snapdeal count to about Rs. 3-4k.
