The development on Micromax A110 just doesn't seem to hit a dead end. Even after 9 months of its launch, the device enjoys a pretty strong xda community. Varun Chitre, the guy who earlier built the Thunderzap kernel for this device, has set out on a new ambitious mission: to port Cyanogenmod 10.1 to the Mediatek MT6577 based Micromax A110 It is to be noted that CM 10.1 is the latest version of Cyanogenmod and is based on Android 4.2.2
Before you start getting too excited, even ready to flash it right now, let me share that the rom is currently in pre-alpha stages. At the time of writing, the rom is not even booting. The developer, devoid of the device himself, is working with several xda users who own the device to get the logcats and stuff in order to make the rom work. If you can handle soft bricks on your Canvas 2 and have a decent internet connection, proceed to the xda thread to help out Varun on his mission.
Update (25th May): ADB and USB are working fine now. This will help Varun get logcats and to get the rom to boot.
Update (26th May): Varun fixed a few issues he obtained in the logcat. Will be posting a fix for them later today.
If you want to give it a try, you need to install ICS rom on your Canvas 2 first, and then flash Cyanogenmod 10.1 zip file using the same method (visit the original thread for the latest file). We, at Droidiser, wish Varun and those helping him out, the best of luck for getting a working Cyanognemod 10.1
Do you own a Canvas 2? If yes, don't you want to rock the latest Android version on it? Do share your opinions in the comments. Bookmark this page to stay updated about this rom. I shall kee it updated with the latest happenings on the thread.
