This move by Google will surely be good as they are debuting in a whole new market. And if they manage to provide the movies at reasonable cost, no doubt Play Movies are going to be a huge success. At now, most movies that I have gone through are available in HD at a price of INR 490.00 while a few are available at INR 650.00, which is still quite bearable comparing to Blu-ray DVDs. An option to rent the movies is also present in some instances , available at prices as low as INR 80.00
Just like books, Play Store automatically shows up relevant results froma Apps, Books and Movies section, something which I find quite annoying. Why? Because 99% of the times, I am in the Play Store looking around for apps, and with the inclusion of Books and Movies in the search results I have to click on the apps option to get to all the results pertaining to applications. That’s a short little glitch, but I can bear with that quite happily as long as Google keeps bringing its Android love to India. It hasn’t been much time since Indian developers were allowed to sell paid applications on the Play Store, and even lesser time since Books were introduced on the Play Store. So, looks like Google has started realising the huge potential in this market called India! And we Indians can do nothing but enjoy. :P
