Karbonn made a lot of news in the year 2012. The reason? Karbonn launched a spree of mobiles catering to different price categories. Be it the Karbonn A21 with a dual core 1 GHz processor or the Karbonn A1+ which redefined value for money with a 1 GHz single core processor at unbelievable prices. And the latest one to be launched was Karbonn A30, which even made Galaxy Note II look smaller by about 0.4" inch. Yes, the specs may not be as astonishing as our beloved and acclaimed Note II, but the A30’s screen size of 5.9 inch did make some news. Priced at about INR 11,000, it is a good deal to go for( if you are not addicted only to reputed brands like Samsung and Sony.)
Karbonn A30 is the largest phablet at present in India, though upcoming (read rumoured) phones like Sony Yuga are sure to beat it in the screen size race. I think we’ve talked enough about the phone, now let me talk about what made you read this article. You have come here looking for the rooting tutorial for Karbonn A30, right?
So, you have decided to root your phone, eh? If you are reading this just to gauge the difficulty level of the procedure, then let me tell you, it is a very easy procedure. Even a first timer would be able to do this easier. If you haven’t till now, go read these articles: “What is Rooting” and “awesome things you can do once you root”. How to Root Karbonn A30
Downloads Required: Root Unroot Tool by Droidiser for ICS and aboveUsual but not-so-boring Disclaimer: Rooting voids your manufacturer’s warranty. I won’t be held responsible if you end up screwing with your mobile. I shall try my level best to get you out of those “dangerous” situations though.
- Enable USB Debugging. The option to do so is present in Settings > Development. Tick USB Debugging to enable it. (It is recommended to keep it turned on even after this procedure is over, why?)
- Install drivers for your phone. That can be easily done using Pdanet. Otherwise, you can always install the official drivers.
- Keep your phone connected (I hope you connected it during driver installation )
- Don’t turn on USB Storage or USB Tethering on your device, it should be connected as is, otherwise the computer won’t be able to communicate with your phone.
- Extract root unroot tool in any folder on your computer and open that folder.
- Run the RootUnrootDroidiser.bat file which will open up a command window, follow the on instructions from there on. Enter 1 when the script asks you if you want to root your mobile or unroot it.
- You will be required to press restore a couple of times, as far as I remember. The option to restore is to selected on your Mobile.
- After the process is complete, close the command prompt windows and reboot your device.
- Show off some dance skills that you’ve got when you spot the Superuser icon in the app drawer.
