Flooded by the questions of current and to-be owners of the Spice Mi 425, the ICS update for the device has been finally rolled out. As reported before, the update has been rolled out just a few days after the Spice Mi 500 was made available in the market.
Spice Mobile's official Facebook Page posted the below update on Thursday:
The update is said to improve the battery life of the device and also removes the bug which caused one sim not to work while data was activated on another. Of course, the update include all the goodies that comes along with the Ice Cream Sandwich which, on top of all, includes a brand new user interface and Google Chrome browser. According to sources, the service center guys are taking your phone for one day to update it to the delicious Ice Cream Sandwich.So, what the hell are you waiting for, rush towards your nearest service center now! It is expected that over the coming days, the update will be available on the internet on developer sites like XDA.
Update: You can flash ICS to your device yourself using the CWM backup provided on a xda thread. But be cautioned, as your SIM won't work if you flash that as the baseband too needs to be updated in order to get it to work. So, better avoid this method for now.
