It's just been barely 2 weeks since Ice Cream Sandwich aka Android 4.0.4 for Spice Mi 425 was released, and as expected, the phone has been rooted even on the updated platform. You might need to refer to the Mi 425 rooting guide for GB version.
So, Ready to root your lovely Android again?
Requirements:
- Clockwork Mod recovery should be flashed on your device. If you don't have it already or aren't sure of whether it is flashed on your device or not, you should go to the rooting guide I have mentioned above (also at the end of the post).
- You must have updated your phone.
- You should have a Spice Mi 425. OK, This one was just meant for a laugh. You obviously have this requirement satisfied, that's why you read this article this far :P
- Spice Mi 425 ics root.zip file
The Rooting Method:
The Clockwork Mod screen might look something like this (depends on which version you flashed). To flash the zip, select the fifth option from the top. |
- Copy the file you downloaded above to your phone's SD card.
- Boot into Clockwork Mod recovery by pressing Volume up + Power On buttons simultaneously till the screen boots up. (You're supposed to press the key combination when your device is switched off.)
- Backup your current unrooted Ice Cream Sandwich ROM.
- From the cwm menu, select "Install Zip from Sdcard."
- Locate the zip file you copied in step 1 and flash it.
- Reboot your device.
You can celebrate now, because you just rooted your Mi 425.
