I'm back with another buck-saving tip I want to share with you.
Activating any SMS/Internet/Call rates drop plan etc. via SMS on BSNL will exempt you from service tax or whatever it is,providing you flat 11% off on regular plans.Read the full post to know how and why!
This is a great thinking by BSNL to provide the users tax exemption while activating any plan on BSNL.
The reason behind it is:
Whenever you recharge your BSNL mobile,some amount is deducted as per the taxes and you receive somewhat lesser talktime than what you paid for.For example:You recharge for INR 50 then you will receive a talktime of about 44 rupees.So,whenever you activate any plan on your BSNL number,you are exempted from paying that tax.
Thus,to avail some benefits from this tax exemption,you need to ensure two things:
- Recharge your BSNL number with Full talktime schemes.Such schemes are forever available.Recent ones in my area is talktime of INR 100 on INR 100 recharge.Previous offers included talktime of INR 220 on recharge of INR 200.That was even better,but it ended soon!You should ask at your recharge outlet for such offers,they will tell you.
- Activate any plan you like through SMS.I'm providing you with some sms you need to send to activate your needed plan.

Similarly,Send "HELP DATA3" without quotes to 52244 to activate 3G internet plans.Send option 1,2,3 or m (for more plans) in reply to activate your plan.Some of the plans before and after discounts are:
400 for 1000 MB becomes INR 356 for 1000 MB. 1 Month Plan
716 for 2000 MB becomes INR 637 for 2000 MB. 1 Month Plan
