Update (13th March): Jelly Bean for Micromax A110 is officially available NOW! Update to Jelly Bean using the method of your choice!
Micromax A110 Canvas 2 users have another reason to rejoice. According to our friends at tech2, Micromax will be releasing the Jelly Bean update for its most successful phone till date i.e. our beloved Canvas 2. Use the SP Flash Tool method in this guide to flash the above file.
Not that users were not having Jelly Bean on their Android phones, but that includes only a small fraction of users who like to play advanced with their device and decide to let their manufacturer's warranty flee to enjoy stuffs like unofficial Jelly Bean update, even when the company hadn't released an official update. The XDA forums is filled to the brim with custom ROMs that run on Jelly Bean. But this update is critically important for people who generally don't mess with their phone. One good thing this update does is that it strikes off two negative factors that might stop you from buying a local brand: One factor was that local manufacturers, till now, don't provide updates and the other one states that after sales service is poor (as the update will be available in their device centers).
So, while this might not be a thing to go mad about for A110 owners, it will really help Micromax build confidence among its increasing customer base, which otherwise had stopped expecting Android updates from them.

According to our fellow bloggers at tech2, who contacted Micromax, the update will be rolled out within a week. Also, we can be assured of the fact that Micromax won't release the updated JB ROM as an OTA update. Instead, you'd be required to take your giant phone to the service center and ask them to update it for you. The process should be quite short and you should get your updated phone back without having to wait too much. You can learn about the location of your nearest service center either from the service center locator tool present on Micromax's official website or by ringing up their Customer Care number. Or, if you want to save our environment (by not wasting petrol in going to the service center), you can stay tuned with us and we shall add a detailed guide on how you would be able to install that ROM from the comfort of your couch.
